Pricing Note
For businesses, rentals and farms, an additional bookkeeping fee of $50/hour may be applied if documents are not tax-ready.
To avoid this fee, you can provide itemized expense totals, a Profit & Loss statement with a balance sheet, or a simple itemized spreadsheet. While we always work as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimize billable time, organized records help ensure your return is completed smoothly, correctly, and cost-effectively. Please reach out if you need clarification or would like us to send a template to simplify the process.
Some tax returns may require additional fees based on their complexity. If you are unsure which pricing category applies to you, please contact us before beginning the process.
Pay From Your Refund
Expecting a refund? You can choose to pay your tax preparation fee out of your refund instead of paying it upfront. This is an optional Refund Transfer offered through Pathward®, N.A., Member FDIC, by EPS Financial. It is available for 2026 tax returns (filed in 2027). It is not available for 2025 returns, including late or amended 2025 returns.
How it works
We prepare your return, you review it, and we e-file it.
The IRS sends your refund to a temporary bank account set up for you.
The bank takes out our prep fee and the fees below, then sends the rest to you by direct deposit or check.
Who's eligible
Your return must be e-filed and you must be getting a federal or state refund.
The refund must be large enough to cover all of the fees below.
Subject to the bank's eligibility rules, identity check and approval.
You'll need a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID and a physical street address (P.O. boxes aren't accepted). This is required every year, even for returning clients.
Fees (in addition to your tax prep fee)
Your tax preparation fee: your tier price above, plus any add-ons
Bank Refund Transfer fee: $20
Software transmission fee: $15
Example: $2,000 refund − $165 prep fee − $20 bank fee − $15 transmission fee = $1,800 to you.
The bank and software fees are charged by Pathward and the tax software provider, not by us. Axiom Horizon Tax Service adds no markup and does not profit from them. Every fee is shown before you sign anything, so there are no hidden fees. If you'd rather avoid the bank fees, you can always pay your prep fee directly instead.
Not a loan. A Refund Transfer is a bank deposit product, not a loan. It doesn't make your refund arrive sooner. Your refund comes on the IRS's normal schedule.
Common questions
What if my refund is smaller than expected or delayed? The fees come out of whatever refund is received. If it doesn't cover them, you still owe our prep fee, and we'll contact you.
Can I still pay upfront? Yes. Paying directly is always an option, and you won't pay the bank fees.
Does it work for state refunds? Yes. The bank can receive both your federal and state refunds. Our prep fee and the bank fees come out of whichever refund arrives first, and the rest is sent to you.
Refund Transfer is an optional tax refund-related product offered by Pathward, N.A., Member FDIC, through EPS Financial. It is not a loan. E-filing is required. Subject to eligibility and approval. Fees apply. See the bank's terms and conditions for details.
